All you have to do....is slow down, then there is no problem, At 67 he should know better and I'm glad he got caught he could have caused injury to a passer by

I don't blame Londoner's for cutting down the ULEZ camera's, but speed cameras are there for a reason, and if yoo get catched speeding, then it's just tough poo, you shouldn't speed.

Daft thing to do. A tin of black spray paint on the lens would have done the job and quicker.

Pyeyta unless he was a sprightly 67 yr old he would need a ladder because I don't think he could shimmy up the post to spray the lenses

PeterP But the one he got done for is one of the old ones according to the photo.

The video on you tube looked like a youth cutting down one of the posts When I am approaching the new camera in the car from the back side so the camera could register my rear number plate at 200-300 yds I get a verbal warning via the radio "caution". If I approach with the camera facing me nothingIf I come along to Wigan Road via Nical Road there is a camera opposite the garage ,I turn left onto Wigan Road and has I turn into the Chemists which is at least 200yds down the road again I get the"caution" warning. What ever signal is emitted by these cameras cannot be good for your health if you live in the zone of the signal

Its a good job some in Wigan are not living in Stoke-on-Trent or else they would be in court evey week with the excessive number of speed camera's around the city.

I only wish they would put one up in our street where idiots are doing 40/50 mph in what is supposed to be a 20 mph limit.

OC there are these new cameras dotted about Wigan/Ashton but I am led to believe some of the cameras which where installed for the emission zone are live and also used to monitor speeding motorists I have a car with an automatic gearbox and it is hard at times to keep the car at under 20MPH ,It is fitted with a speed limiter but would have to look online whether it would work at 20 mph without trying to stall the car.We used to get HGV's cutting through the estate and I don't think the drivers knew what 30mph was never mind 20mph

PeterP

When I mentioned 20mph, I only said that figure as it is what is showned on the various lamp standards of the estate and in no way do I expect any vehicle doing that speed but at the same time, I do not expect any driver to be doing 40/50 mph and in one case even 60mph up and down our street on what is a residential estate.

We are fortunate that there are no longer any young children living on our street or there might have been a serious accident or even a fatelity by now.

OC I have looked up the speed limiter on our car and it could be set has low as19mph.Has to speed limits there are always people who think that does not apply to them whether it be 20MPH or 70MPH there will always be drivers who do over the limit

507 drivers arrested in Greater Manchester alone for drink and drug driving over the festive period in addition to other motoring offences like using a mobile phone, not wearing a seat belt, speeding in excess of a limit, no driving license and insurance, no MOT, driving while banned etc, etc.

Another national scandal that needs to be addressed!

I have had a driving licence for a motorbike since I was 17 years old and later in life (35 years old) I got my car license.. A few years ago I got pulled for a random breathalyser test in the afternoon nearly Chorley no problem and I got stopped on the M58 over car insurance(two days out of date according to police computer) sorted within a hour not my fault. But never asked for driving licence or asked to produce driving licence later. Later this year I will have to apply for my driving licence because I will be 70 years old. How many drivers play the percentage game and know they will never get stopped

The police don't need to ask you to produce any driving documents now, because they can check electronically and instantly, if you are Licensed, Insured and MOT'd

As regards my licences, and I am boasting now and for that I apologise, I passed me car test and bike test on the same day some three months after me 17th birthday

They changed that camera on Warrington road for a new tall camera, at the same time as they changed the camera on Wallgate.

I am more inclined to think everyone is fed up with all your cynical and sarcastic comments Todge and just can’t be bothered taking you on.
